A welfare and medical camp for Indian Army Veterans and Veer Naris was organised at Village Paswara, Meerut (UP) in the premises of Aadarsh Janta Inter College, Paswara on November 26, 2017 under the aegis of RAM Division.
The objective of organising the camp was to reach out to all the veterans and veer naris residing in rural areas of Western Uttar Pardesh and assist them in resolution of their grievances and increasing awareness with regards to latest policies and job opportunities.
The camp was heavily subscribed by veterans and veer naris. Maj Gen ND Prasad, GOC, RAM Division addressed the camp and interacted with the veterans and veer naris and discussed their grievances and various related issues. He also felicitated disabled veterans and veer naris and assured them of providing the necessary assistance related to medical, pensionary and other benefits.
During the rally, a Medical Camp was organised which included Lady Medical Officers alongwith other specialists providing routine health checkup to veterans and veer naris. Alongwith CSD facility, representatives of various Records Offices, DPDO, DIAV, ESM Helpline, AWPC Cell, Jeevan Praman Patar Cell, PSU Banks, Zila Sainik Kalyan and Punarwas Cell, UP Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Ltd, Agriculture Based Stall & Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Cell were established. A talk was also delivered by Brigadier Ranvir Singh, (Retd) Patron, Indian Ex-Servicemen League on issues related to pension and various contemporary schemes for veterans launched by Central & State Government.
The rally was highly appreciated as a very informative and helpful initiative by the audience. The interaction was followed by a lunch for all the veterans and veer naris organised by the Army.
