The columns of Army comprising five officers, 20 Junior Commissioned Officers and 200 Jawans left the Cantonment. After reaching the site, the Army cordoned off the area. Then there was reconnaissance, monitoring and surveillance by the Quick Reaction Team. This was followed by the deployment of ambulances, stretchers, evacuation team, masks, oxygen cylinders decontamination centre etc. It led to the activation of reserve columns to further stabilise the affected area. It was also practiced as to how the civil-medical set-up, the disaster relief organisation, the NGOs and college students might render aid to reduce the time for evacuation of casualties.

For this mock exercise, the Deputy Commissioner of Kapurthala had earmarked beds in various hospitals and activated the various civil departments.
