COAST GUARD STATION VIZHINJAM CONDUCTS AWARENESS PROGRAMMES ON COASTAL CLEANUP AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN COAST GUARD


As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Indain Coast Guard Station Vizhinjam conducted awareness programmes at St. Francis Sales Senior Secondary School and Christ College at Vizhinjam.    At St Francis School, an awareness programme on how to keep our coasts clean and healthy was conducted. In the programme, Assistant Commandant Abhishek Sangwan, Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Ship C-427 conducted a presentation on “Reduction in tones of plastic getting increased at ocean bed day by day”. A quiz programme was also conducted as part of the programme.  The quiz programme was conducted by Assistant Commandant Arun Kumar, Station Operations Officer on the theme “Indian Coast, Indian culture and heritage”.  The event concluded after prize distribution to winners.             At the Christ Collegge, the awareness campaign on employment opportunities in Indian Coast Guard was conducted by Assistant Commandant Arun Kumar accompanied by subordinate officer NPS Kumar. This Orientation programme on career development helped the students of Christ College to have a fair understanding about Indian Coast Guard recruitment procedures.
