Youth Festival ‘SANGAM-2022' begins at Bhaderwah (J&K)
Indian Army in collaboration with Bhaderwah University Campus is organising a five day Youth Festival ‘SANGAM-2022’ at Bhaderwah in district Doda (J&K) from 31 Oct to 04 Nov 2022. This time approximate 1200 students both boys and girls from 34 Colleges and University Campuses from entire Jammu region are participating in this mega event.
The inaugural ceremony of the event held on 31 Oct 2022 at Bhaderwah University Campus. Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, GOC, White Knight Corps graced the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest, Maj Gen Ajay Kumar, GOC, CIF (Delta) and a number of officials from Indian Army, civil administration, police, media and educationists were also present during inaugural ceremony which was organised by students with fervor and enthusiasm. The Corps Commander appreciated the spirit and enthusiasm of the participants and the conducting staff and their efforts in ensuring communal harmony and nation building.
The youth festival provides a suitable platform for the youth to showcase their talent across domains of sports, culture and fine arts with an aim of spreading the message of peace and communal harmony. The participants will also get an opportunity to try their hands at various adventure activities like Paragliding, River Rafting, Rock Climbing, Rappling and Zip Lining. This unique festival also provides students with an opportunity to interact with one another and learn good values and experience the local cultural heritage. A total of 40 events (outdoor and indoor activities) have been planned during this five day mega festival.
The traditional folk dance and other cultural programs performed by students mesmerised the audience with their talent. An attractive ‘Chho Dance’ was performed by Adivasi soldiers from Army. The enthusiasm and motivation of the participating students was very encouraging. Such cultural and sporting events are a great media towards aligning the perception of youth towards a positive end and portray an overall image of the Indian Army as a harbinger of peace.
