Indian Army Organises Medical & Veterinary Camp at Tain, Poonch

Indian Army organised a Medical cum Veterinary camp at Tain Village to provide medical assistance to the Awaam of Mendhar and nearby villages of Tain, Choi, Charangari and Mankote in district Poonch (J&K). The lecture cum counselling sessions by the medical specialist highlighted the health risk and solutions to tackle the life style diseases. Nearly 200 people attended the said programme. The lecture was followed by health check-up facilitated by Primary Health Care Centre, Mankote in association with the Block Medical Department, Mendhar. All attendees including ladies and children were provided with medicines along with medical counselling. In addition, the team of doctors and veterinary specialists carried out medical checkup of livestock and educated locals on prevention, treatment and basic care measures for their livestock. This camp also gave an opportunity to instil/ generate interest among locals in sports activities wherein short put and couple of athletic games were also conducted for the youth followed by various games for kids with prizes for all, which they enjoyed thoroughly. In addition, women were also encouraged to participate in an event of musical chair which turned out to be the highlight of the event. The successful conduct of Medical cum Veterinary Camp and sports events is yet another demonstration of the Indian Army's outreach to the locals in order to increase the awareness on health and wellness in people.
