Attachment to army units and orientation training is an important part of the training curriculum of Maharashtra State Civil Services officers. The training involves first-hand experience of tough and disciplined life of an Indian Army personnel through military routine akin to a soldier which includes grueling physical training, lectures and firing of small arms.
The aim of this attachment is to instill right attitude and values such as self-discipline, integrity and spirit de corps in the minds of young probationers. Brig Deepak Sharma, VSM, the Commandant, Brigade of The Guards, Regimental Centre, in his welcome address to the probationers expressed that post completing the attachment they would be better equipped to take on their assignments and challenges since they would have imbibed the essence of military life and the ethos that the Indian Army lives by – honour and services to the nation at all cost.
