Assam Rifles flagged in the National Integration Tour on coming back from Dehradun to Kohima on 06 Nov 2022.

As 20 students and 04 Teachers from various Schools in Kohima came back from an enriching 10 days experiences, Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector AR/ HQ IGAR(North) Flagged In the Tour at Kohima Garrison on 06 Nov 2022. The Flag In was done by Major General Vikas Lakhera, Sena Medal, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North). As the Tour entered the Garrison, their friends from Schools and their Parents & Teachers cheered them up and welcomed them with open arms. While the fellow students were excited to listen from their schoolmates who went for tour, the parents were filled with emotions as they were happy to see their Children back after a ten days trip.

The Children and Teachers shared their experiences of the Tour and used the words like-  ‘Eye Opener’, ‘Awe Struck’, ‘Stunned’ and ‘Motivating’ to describe their learning. The Tour undertook a journey to Indian Military Academy, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Forest Research Institute and Graphic Era Deemed to be a University, all at Dehradun. In addition, they also visited India Gate, Manekshaw Centre and other places of interest in Delhi. The Team also witnessed Wreath Laying at National War Memorial in New Delhi and paid homage to Late Capt N Kenguruse, MVC who hails from Kohima, Nagaland. It was indeed an emotional moment. They were thrilled to see the state of the art infrastructure at New Delhi and Dehradun, and felt more confident after undergoing this exposure.  Each participant was felicitated with a Souvenir and a Group Photograph.

Addressing the gathering, IG AR (North) exhorted the students to do well in their career and increase their aspirations. He also thanked the School Principals and the Parents to have encouraged their children for attending this tour.

 

At the end of Flag in Ceremony, the students presented two songs in the true spirit of camaraderie. Despite being from different schools, their strong bond and association was worth admiring. The participants and their parents thanked Assam Rifles for their support & initiative and look forward for more such exposures in future.
