Run Up Activities for 47th Raising Day of Indian Coast Guard at Kochi

In a run up activities to 47th raising day of Indian Coast Guard and in conjunction of “Coast Guard Week Celebrations”, Indian Coast Guard Ship Abhinav under the helm of Coast Guard District Headquarters (Kerala & Mahe) conducted a “Heritage walk” on 16 Jan 23 commencing from CG DHQ-4 to Coast Guard Jetty covering a distance of approximately 3.0 km. The event was flagged off by Deputy Inspector General Anwar Khan, TM, Officer-in-Charge, CGWT(W). During the walk, local populace, service personnel and masses were apprised regarding the significance of Coastal Cleanup along with impacts of Marine Pollution. The event also included brief guidance by guides from Indian Tourism Organisation who explained about various Portuguese, Dutch, British Churches, historical monuments, Forts, Anglo Indian Schools and other major trade settlements along with ancient Jewish settlements. The event witnessed healthy participation of 150 personnel from various CG units along with their family.
