Assam Rifles Conducts 111th Major Bob Khathing Birth Anniversary Tournament in Ukhrul

Somsai Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) inaugurated the 111th Late Major Bob Khathing Birth Anniversary tournament on 20 February 2023 at Ukhrul district.

As part of the tournament, Men’s Football, Women’s Volleyball and Baby League (under 12) teams will be the participants. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri Ram Muivah, MLA, Ukhrul. DIG Somsai Sector Assam Rifles welcomed the teams and honoured the contributions of Major Bob Khathing. The tournament is being undertaken by Assam Rifles in association with Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA) from 20-27 February 2023.

The celebration was witnessed by youth, women, students, teachers and people from all walks of life. A grand opening ceremony was organised with cultural programs portraying the culture & traditions of Tangkhuls, offering tribute to Major Bob Khathing.
