Assam Rifles Organises Flag off Ceremony for National Integration Tour to Kolkata Under OP Sadhbhavna

Modi Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) is organising the National Integration Tour (NIT) for students of Machi Government High School, Machi, Tengnoupal District, Manipur from 22 Feb 2023 to 07 March 2023 to Kolkata, as part of the Assam Rifles outreach programme to foster the spirit of National Integration, across the country. A Total of 20 students and two local teachers from the school are participating in the tour.

Deputy Inspector General, Headquarters 26 Assam Rifles, Brigadier Vedpal Yadav, Sena Medal flagged off the tour from Sector HQ, Pallel, Manipur on 22 Feb 2023.

The tour has been conceptualised by Assam Rifles with an aim to broaden the horizons of students of border villages by exposing them to rich history, culture and traditions of the country. It is an initiative aimed at promoting unity and harmony among students and provides a unique opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for the rich diversity of our nation and  will help students develop a better understanding of the cultural, linguistic, and social differences that bind us as a Nation.
