New Recruitment procedure for JCOs/ORs/Agniveers with Online CEE as first filter in Indian Army

 

Secunderabad, 28 Feb 2023

 

Colonel Keats K Das, Director Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office Secunderabad addressed a Press Conference today on modification to the recruitment procedure for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs)/ Other Ranks (ORs) / Aginveers in the Indian Army. The changes will be effective from this year i.e. Recruiting Year 2023-24.

 

Speaking to media persons, Colonel Das informed that Indian Army has announced transformational changes in recruitment procedure of JCOs/ORs. As before, the recruitment will still comprise of three stages, however, from this year the Common Entrance Exam will be conducted in the first phase. The Common Entrance Exam will be conducted online. In stage II, Based on their performance in the Online CEE, shortlisted candidates will be called to nominated venues for the Recruitment Rallies where they will undergo Physical Fitness and physical Measurement Tests. The procedure of Recruitment Rallies remains unchanged. In stage III, the selected candidates will undergo Medical Test at the rally location. Final merit will be based on Online CEE result and physical test marks as hither-to-fore.

 

The change is in synchronization with the emerging requirements of the Indian Army in the 21st century. The new system of recruitment is adopted to achieve the following objectives: -

 

Transparency and automation of the entire recruitment process.

Achieving balance between intellectual merit and physical fitness.

Mitigation of administrative difficulties and hardships faced by the candidates.

Provide equal opportunity to all deserving candidates for appearing in CEE.

Mitigate the rally load thus enabling adequate and smooth conduct of rallies.

 

Online Registration

 

The online registration on Join Indian Army website is open from 16 Feb 2023 to 15 Mar 2023. The process of registration remains the same as earlier. Candidates can either register using their Aadhar Card or their class 10th certificate. As part of continued automation, the Join Indian Army website has now been linked with Digilocker for greater transparency.

 

The Online CEE is being conducted at 176 locations across India. In Telangana it will be conducted in four centres at Hyderabad, Adilabad, Warangal and Karimnagar. The candidates have the choices to select five Exam locations and they shall be allotted exam locations from within those choices. For online CEE fee is Rs 500/- per candidate. 50% of the cost is being borne by the Army. At the end of the registration process the candidates would be directed to a payment portal. Candidates are required to pay Rs 250/- along with associated bank charges if any, by using Internet Banking, UPI/BHIM or credit or debit cards of all major banks to including Maestro, Master Card, VISA or RuPay cards. A candidate will be considered registered only once his payment is successful & a Roll No generated at this stage, which shall be used at all stages of recruitment. Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE)          

 

To appear in the Online CEE, Admit cards would be available on Join Indian Army website 10-14 days prior to commencement of the examination. Intimation of the same shall be sent to candidates’ mobiles through SMS and on their registered email IDs. Admit card will have exact address for Exam Centre. 

   

The Online CEE is a computer-based exam. The process to appear in the exam is very simple. To guide the candidates, a video on ‘How to Appear in Online Common Entrance Exam” is available of Join Indian Army website and also on YouTube. It is clarified that there is no change in the syllabus & pattern of the questions.                     

 

To assist the candidates to prepare for the online CEE, practice tests for all categories have been developed & a link has been hosted on the Join Indian Army website. Candidates can thus practice appearing in the said exam from their homes. On accessing the same, candidates will be able to see the same screen on the computer as they will see during the actual Exam. These tests can be accessed on a mobile also.

 

Help Desk

 

To clarify any doubts of the candidates, a helpdesk has also been established, details of which are available on the Join Indian Army website. For queries related to Online CEE, they can also be clarified on mob No 7996157222.

 

Bonus Marks for ITI/Polytechnic Graduates

 

            Indian Army is giving very attractive bonus marks to ITI/Polytechnic qualified candidates for technical trades ranging from 20 marks to 50 marks.

 

10th pass plus 2 year course at ITI: 20 mks

10th pass plus 2/3 year Diploma: 30 mks

12th pass plus 1 year course at ITI: 30 mks

12th pass plus 2 year course at ITI: 40 mks

12th pass plus Diploma Holder: 50 mks

 

Anti Touting    

 

As the candidates will realize, the process has become completely automated with minimal human intervention. Candidates are advised not to fall prey to touts as they cannot help them in any way. The recruitment into the Indian Army remains completely unbiased, impartial and merit based.
