Honour for the Braves

Mantripukhari Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) org a wreath laying ceremony on 01 Mar 2023 for G/47439 Lancenaik/General Duty (Late) Man Bdr Ale, G/49749N Rifleman / General Duty (Late) Sena Singh and G/49987 Rifleman / General Duty (Late) BD Sharma of 4 Assam Rifles who were killed in action on 29 Feb 1980 when a patrolling column while moving in front of Allahabad bank at Imphal came under ambush laid by insurgents. The fire from insurgents was immediately retaliated with fire by the patrolling column.              

In the ensuring gun fight with the insurgents G/47439 Lancenaik/General Duty (Late) Man Bdr Ale, G/49749N Rifleman / General Duty (Late) Sena Singh and G/49987 Rifleman / General Duty (Late) BD Sharma sustained gunshot wounds and succumbed to their injuries.Thereby laying down their lives as supreme sacrifice for the nation.
