1st Bishnupur District Wushu Coaching Camp at by Assam Rifles

In order to promote the sports activities and empowering youth of Bishnupur District, Loktak Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) sponsored to organise 1st Bishnupur District Wushu Coaching Camp from 01 March to 10 March 2023 at Thinungei village, Bishnupur District (Manipur).  

A ten days coaching camp was organised and sponsored by Loktak Battalion wherein deserving and interested local youths from Bishnupur and Churachandpur District participated and learned the basic skills of Wushu. The coaching camp concluded on 10 March 2023 wherein the main aim of this activity was to generate the spirit of sportsmanship amongst the participants & civilians alike. A total of Fifty five (55 n) players from the Bishnupur and Churachandpur District of different age groups and weight categories participated in the ten days coaching camp. The students were also felicitated by certificate of appreciation by the Battalion for the hard work and efforts put in by them during the course of the coaching camp.

The articipants and spectators lauded the initiative by the Battalion and requested the battalion to conduct more such events to foster a healthy competitive spirit among the youth of the area. The event will go a long way in strengthening the relations between Security Forces and the local youths.
