Assam Rifles Provide Assistance for Construction of Volleyball Court and Extension of Football Field

Continuing its efforts towards improving the infrastructure for sports and recreation and promotion of talent in the region, Loktak Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) provided assistance to village council for construction of Volleyball court and extension of Football Field at Songlang village, Churachandpur District (Manipur) on 13 March 2023.

On request from the village council and local student union, a JCB was provided to help the villagers to level the ground for turning it into a football and volleyball court. During the course of work, the villagers formed small teams with Assam Rifles personnel and worked together. The field will be an impetus to boost the endeavours of the village council to provide a better platform for local sportsmen as well as to improve the relations with enhancement of mutual trust between Assam Rifles and local populace.
