Flag off ceremony of Konark Sappers Cycling Expedition

Continuing with the celebration of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and various events being conducted by Indian Army, a cycling expedition by Konark Sappers was Flagged off by Major General PS Chadha, Chief of Staff of Jodhpur based Konark Corps on 14 March 2023.  This expedition would traverse from Khetolai, Rajasthan to reach Jodhpur Military Station on 28 March 2023.  19 personnel will cover a distance of 1100 Kms through arduous desert terrain of Western Rajasthan over a period of 15 days.

The expedition will pass through 42 villages and aims to enhance outreach to children, youth. Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris by undertaking interactive sessions with local populace during their visit. The participants will also motivate students and younger generation to take up Armed Forces as profession through various entry schemes and serve the nation with pride. The expedition team will distribute entitlement pamphlets to the Ex-Servicemen and express gratitude to "Veer Naris' and 'Veer Matas' for their sacrifice through organised felicitation programmes.
