Indian Army Conducts Lecture on International Women’s Day at KGBV School, Jathi (ASSAR) and Government High School, Udhyanpur (Bhart)

The International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 08 March across the world. It is a day to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality. The aim is to create a better gender-neutral society. Understanding the different facets of a woman’s life is instrumental in achieving this. Indian Army conducted a lecture on women empowerment to celebrate International Women’s Day at KGBV School, Jathi (Assar) and Government High School, Udhyanpur (Bhart) in district Doda. Through the events, an attempt was made to sensitise the students regarding everyday issues concerning women. Indian Army organised a speech on the position of women in contemporary/ modern society, expanding on the different roles that women play in the everyday lives and how challenging it is for them and yet their efforts are often un-recognised and un-acknowledged. 12 Teachers and 72 students attended the events. The lectures were a noble undertaking by the Indian Army to motivate the girls / women of the district, further strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the populace. The locals appreciated and expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for the noble step.
