Assam Rifles Distributes Water in Ukhrul Town During Acute Water Crisis  

Somsai Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed 27000 litres of water in seven localities of Ukhrul on 18 March 2023 to mitigate the acute water crisis. The aid was undertaken in Tangrei, Alungtang, Awongtang, Kasomtang, Greenland, Meizalung and Luiyaitang localities.

The aid was provided on the request of the governing bodies of the various localities. The onset of summers had depleted the water levels in the major water sources of Ukhrul town.

The people of Ukhrul extended their gratitude for the aid extended by Assam Rifles and have urged to undertake initiatives for the benefit of the society.
