Multi-Activity Display at Officers Training Academy Chennai
On the penultimate day of Passing Out of Short Service Commission (SSC)-115, SSC(W)-29 & equivalent courses from OTA, Chennai, a Multi-Activity Display showcasing Equestrian, Physical Training Skills, Military Band Display, Army Martial Art Regime (AMAR), ‘Kalaraipayattu’ and Bayonet Fighting was organized today, for parents of the Passing Out Course, and other distinguished guests. Lieutenant General Sanjeev Chauhan Commandant, OTA, Chennai was the Chief Guest of the event.
The display commenced with an exquisite Equestrian Display during which horse riding skills and manoeuvres like tent pegging and show jumping were showcased. It was followed by a well coordinated Physical Training (PT) display which epitomized the high standards of physical training at the Academy. The show also featured a scintillating performance by the Military Band and display of Army Martial Art Regime (AMAR) which has now been included as part of training in the Indian Army. Next in the line was Bayonet Fighting Display by Cadets displaying their proficiency in close quarter battle scenarios. Finally, the event was set ablaze by ‘Kalaripayattu’, a martial art form of Kerala's Malabar region. The event concluded with the Chief Guest presenting mementos to the participants accompanied by thunderous applause of the spectators.
