Air Marshal Sk Indoria Takes Over as Senior Air Staff Officer at HQ Training Command, IAF

Air Marshal SK Indoria assumed the appointment of Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO), HQ Training Command IAF on 01 May 2023.           

The Air Officer was commissioned into the Indian Air Force on 07 Jun 1986. In his illustrious career spanning over 37 years he flew over 5100h of accident/ incident free flying which includes flying in North/ North Eastern regions, ANC AoR and long haul flights to Ukraine and Malaysia. He is Fully Operational on MiG 21, MiG 27 and An-32 ac. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor with over 2000 h of instructional flying. 

He has held several key appointments including Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Chandigarh wherein he was instrumental in optimal utilization of transport and helicopter assets towards air maintenance task of Northern Sector, flood relief missions in Uttarakhand in 2013 and J&K in 2015. As Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Transport and Helicopters), he spearheaded heavy airlift operations in aid of Northern Sector (post Galwan conflict). He also ensured airlift of men, medicines, Oxygen tankers, equipment etc from foreign countries during the national effort to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. He played a key role in planning and execution of evacuation of Indian Nationals from Wuhan, Iran and Afghanistan during times of crises. He was also instrumental in the induction and operationalization of B-777 for VVIP operations. Other important assignments tented by the Air Officer include Commanding Officer of a frontline transport Squadron and Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff. The Air Officer holds M Phil degree in political science and has the distinction of undergoing Joint Staff and Command Course in Indonesia. Prior to assuming the current appointment, he was discharging the duties of SASO, Southern Air Command. 

In recognition of his meritorious service, the Air Officer has been awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal in 2018 and Vayu Sena Medal in 2012 by the Hon’ble President of India.
