Lecture on Harmful Effects of Tobacco Organised at Cherji, Kishtwar

To educate the local populace about tobacco addiction and its effects on the human body, Indian Army organised a lecture on harmful effects of Tobacco for the local populace of Cherji region of Kishtwar district. The lecture was to impart awareness about ill effects of tobacco. During the lecture, the locals, specially the youth were sensitised about the consumption of tobacco and their harmful effects on health, various signs and symptoms and treatment aspects. The local populace were educated that tobacco is a leading cause of disease in respiratory aliments and cancer resulting in poor eyesight and weakening sense of taste and smell. It badly effects the respiratory system, cardiovascular system, nervous system, reproductive system and digestive system. The event promises to be a unique effort to improve the health and hygiene issues in day to day life.
