Indian Army Organised Interaction with Gujjar and Bakarwals at Sialsui, Rajouri
The migratory Gujjar and Bakarwal community of Jammu & Kashmir continue to face challenges owing to the remoteness of the areas they reside in and transit through. Indian Army has periodically been interacting with this community to understand their grievances and render assistance in terms of health, education etc. Towards this end, Indian Army reached out to the local Gujjar and Bakarwal population of Sialsui, Rajouri District to educate them about various Govt schemes and policies like Scholarships for Children, Bank Loans, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, Area Development Scheme etc. The gathering also shared experiences of their annual migrations and highlighted the contribution of Indian Army in facilitating the move through difficult and remote areas.
