Indian Army Organises Tree Plantation Drive at Lower Gund, Banihal

A Tree Plantation Drive was organised by Indian Army at Govt High School, Tethar, Ramban district with voluntary participation of local populace, forest department and students, wherein 30 saplings were planted with an aim to expand the green cover in newly constructed school premise. The importance of tree plantation in shaping the clean environment and its dividends in reducing soil erosion and global warming were discussed with the gathering under the motto ‘Plant Trees, Save Life’. The event saw active and enthusiastic participation by the residents of Lower Gund and students.  The local population appreciated the efforts of Indian Army to conduct such an event to maintaining the ecosystem.
