International Nursing Day Celebrations at Command Hospital Northern Command Culminates on 12 May 2023

 

Since the time of inception, Military Nursing Service officers have played a pivotal role in the care of sick and injured soldiers and their families across the length and breadth of the country. They have valorously served alongside the soldiers, both in times of war and peace upholding the glorious tradition of the Armed Forces.

Military Nursing Services have kept pace with the latest advancements in medical research, innovations and technology adopting the best practices to deliver quality nursing care to the Armed Forces.

 

The theme for Nursing Day this year was ‘Our Nurses Our Future’ as given by International Council of Nursing (ICN). A series of academic and outreach activities were conducted during a weeklong celebration at Command Hospital Northern Command which culminated on International Nurses day.

 

The celebration commenced on 7th May with a walkathon.  A Health awareness session was also conducted for the school children of Army Public School, Senior Wing on the topic ‘Child Sexual Abuse’. It was followed by a Quiz Competition for Nursing Officers on 10th May 2023. A workshop on Nursing Research Methodology was also undertaken. Dr Shailla Cannie Principal Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing gave the key note address emphasizing the need to develop future leaders in the field of nursing equipped with research and innovations.

 

Maj Gen Avinash Das, Commandant in his address exhorted all the delegates professionally excel and indulge more in clinical research to improve their technical skills.
