YOUTH PANCHAYAT ORGANISED

A YP(Youth Panchayat) was organised by Indian Army at Dudi for villages of Dudi and Thalli. 41 Males and 25 Females attended the YP alongwith Sarpanch and other important members of civil society. Aim of this YP was to empower youth of these villages and make them equal stakeholders in development of their villages. Youth were initially introduced to the concept of YP and how it can empower them take control of their and their societies future. Youth were upbeat about the idea and agreed to take action and become self-reliant. Challenges of their villages alongwith the actions which can be taken by youth to ameliorate them were discussed. Two male and two female leaders were elected to be the voice of youth of these villages.
