Indian Coast Guard Conducts Special Coastal Cleanup Drive at Shivrajpur Beach, Dwarka

In time with the motto “Clean Seas Safe Seas” Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 15 (North Gujarat) conducted beach cleanship drive on 21 May 2023 at Shivrajpur beach, Dwarka in coordination with Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). The aim was also to promote “Jan Bhagidari & Public Awareness regarding Prevention of Marine Pollution & Adoption of Sustainable Lifestyle for Healthy Oceans. 

All Indian Coast Guard officers and men of all afloat and ashore units based at Okha participated in the event along with  representatives from Gujarat Pollution Control Board, TATA Chemicals Pvt Ltd, Mithapur and Mahila Vikas Mandal, Rajkot. Approximately 950 Kgs of litter was collected and subsequently handed over to Nagarpalika, Dwarka for further disposal. ICG has been committed towards “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” with an aim to educate and motivate the local populace for maintaining Sea shores neat and clean and to avoid pollution of marine environment. The event witnessed effective participation of 250 personnel across various agencies leading to concerted efforts to enhance collaboration amongst Stakeholders in the region.
