Campaign to Raise Awareness Against Drug Abuse at Dharamkot, Doda

As a part of on-going process of educating the local youth, Campaign to Raise Awareness against Drug Abuse at Dharamkot was conducted for the youth and locals at Suigarh under the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. During the campaign, Dr Vineet, Principal, Govt High School, Sertangal elucidated various points on drug abuse and its consequences in the day to day life.  He educated them in detail on various Drugs of Abuse such as Tobacco/Nicotine, Club Drugs, Cocaine, Heroin, Hallucinogens, Inhalants, Synthetic Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Cold Medicines, Salvia, Steroids and other commonly abused drugs.  He also emphasised on the various aspects like Drugged Driving, Drugs and the Brain, Medical Consequences, Mental Health, Prevention and Treatment. The highlights of the campaign included weaning away the students from the menace of drugs and efforts were made to project the health hazards and danger to social life of drug addicts.  A total of 120 students of Dr Vineet, Principal, Govt High School, Sertangal attended the campaign.  Students appreciated the measures projected by the event to keep them away from drug abuse and choose a healthy and progressive life.
