Assam Rifles Conducts Nasha Mukt Bharat Awareness Program

Assam Rifles organized a lecture on 'Harmful effects of Drugs, Tobacco' in its efforts to promote a health conscious and productive society at village Songdoi in Churachandpur district on 19 Aug 2023. The said event witnessed a healthy participation by villages including youth and children. Use of tobacco in various forms is emerging as a serious concern in the country, especially amongst the younger generation leading to long term disastrous consequences not just for the abuser, but also to the family and the society at large. The lecture highlighted the crux of various studies on the perils of substance abuse and discussed its short and long term effects of entrapment in a vicious cycle culminating in multiple health issues.

In a similar vein, Assam Rifles organized a Cleanliness Drive at the border village of Singhat in Churachandpur as an effort to create a healthy and clean society and to sensitize the locals.

The said drive involved an interactive session on ‘Clean and Healthy Environment’ and was enthusiastically attended by villagers of varied age groups, followed by comprehensive village cleanliness session. A total of neary 70 individuals took part in the said drive.
