Assam Rifles Distributes Solar Lights to Village Saivoma, Dist Tegnoupal and Extends Medical Care to Thingphai, Dist Chandel

In continuation with the efforts of Assam Rifles to reach out to the general population and assist them in humanitarian aid, Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organized an interaction cum solar light distribution program at village Saivom, Tengnoupal District on 27 Aug 23. Approximately 80-100 villagers and village authorities attended the program.

The village had been facing a shortage of street lights, and the installation of solar lights brought significant relief to the villagers. This initiative provided an alternate medium to illuminate the area and contributed to enhancing the security of the general area. The program concluded with light refreshments being offered to the villagers, fostering a sense of community.

Assam Rifles in execution of its community friendly activities organised an elaborate medical camp in Thingphai village on August 26, 2023. This initiative, undertaken amidst challenging times in Manipur, stands as a testament to Assam Rifles’ dedication to providing essential healthcare services to those in need, especially in border regions. The array of services offered at the medical camp encompassed a range of healthcare needs including general health check-ups, vision examinations, necessary referrals and distribution of Medicines. 

The medical camp in Thingphai village exemplifies Assam Rifles’ ethos of compassionate care and community service. In a region where access to medical aid can often be a challenge, their proactive measures underscore their dedication to improving the quality of life for those they serve.
