                Director General Indian Coast Guard Visits Okha and Porbandar

DG Rakesh Pal, PTM, TM, Director General as part of his visit to ICG North West Region from 30 Aug 23 visited ICG District Headquarters at Porbandar and Okha towards reviewing operational preparedness. Inspector General AK Harbola, TM, Commander of the North West Region accompanied the Flag Officer during the visit to these stations.

The Director General conducted extensive deliberations during op briefings at both the frontline units and reviewed the op, admin and infrastructural preparedness of all the stations to meet various challenges in the Area of Responsibility of the Region North West. He later visited Inventory Depot and Air Enclave at Porbandar. The Director General also appreciated Officers, troops and civilian personnel at these units for their dedication and commitment. He specifically mentioned the efforts in evacuation of 50 personnel from Oil Rig ‘Key Singapore’ and the measures that led to zero causality at sea during the recent Cyclone Biparjoy.

During the visit, the Director General inaugurated Maritime Aquatic Training Facility at Okha and JCOs Mess at Porbandar. Coast Guard Kinder Garden at Okha was also inaugurated at the hands of Mrs Dipa Pal, President Tatrakshika.
