Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri Visit to CVRDE 

The Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Shri. Ajay Bhatt, Raksha Rajya Mantri has made his maiden visit to Combat Vehicles Research & Development Estt. (CVRDE), Avadi, Chennai on 05^th Sep 2023. During his visit, the Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) had a meeting with senior scientist’s and reviewed the progress of on-going projects at CVRDE. Dr S V Kade, Distinguished Scientist & Director General (ACE) gave a presentation about various achievements and important technology / products developed by CVRDE.  Shri. V Balamurugan, Outstanding Scientist & Director CVRDE briefed the present status & improvements of on-going projects.

Hon’ble RRM has evinced keen interest towards the advanced systems developed by CVRDE and the respective project leaders highlighted the uniqueness of their systems. The Hon’ble RRM also made a ride in Main Battle Tank (Arjun Mk I A) with crew members and experienced the advanced features of Indian Made Tank.     

Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) appreciated the CVRDE fraternity for the unstinted efforts and contributions in the Defence base. Further, he emphasized the importance of enhancing the self-reliance in R&D systems and expressed his confidence that DRDO will empower the nation with ‘Make in India’ concept.
