Assam Rifles Organizes Expensive Medical Camp

Assam Rifles, operating under the jurisdiction of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), orchestrated a "Mega Medical Camp" in the Torbung area of Churachandpur District, Manipur, on 08 Sept 2023.

The primary objective of this Medical Camp was to extend crucial medical care and dispense necessary medicines to the underprivileged residents of villages that lack access to essential healthcare facilities. Villagers from S Kotlian, Torbung, Matijang, Kangvai, and nearby areas of Churachandpur District availed themselves of the camp's services. This initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of local inhabitants in remote areas where such facilities are scarce.

A proficient medical team, led by the Regimental Medical Officer (RMO) of the battalion, administered the camp. The team provided treatment to patients afflicted with viral fever and conjunctivitis. Furthermore, Orthopedic and Gynecological specialists from District Hospital, Churachandpur, were on hand to attend to patients. The camp also included routine blood tests with sugar monitoring.A total of 355 patients, comprising 100 men, 190 women, and 65 children, received diagnosis and medical care during the camp.

The local population of S Kotlian village and neighboring communities expressed their deep appreciation for Assam Rifles' commendable initiative in organising this crucial medical camp.
