Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, DG NCC visited the NCC Units of Gujarat 

Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, DG NCC visited the NCC Units of Gujarat State on 29 & 30 October 2023.  He was accompanied by Major General Ramesh Shanmugam, ADG NCC Gujarat and his staff.  He was briefed by the Commanders of all Groups of NCC on 30 October 2023 on various activities being undertaken by NCC in the State.

The DGNCC witnessed the preparations and rehearsals of the NCC contingent for the Ekta Diwas celebrations at Ekta Nagar scheduled on 31 October 2023.  He was appreciative of the extensive efforts and intensive training put in by the NCC contingent coming from all parts of the Nation.  NCC, being the largest uniformed youth force in the globe, had already been spreading the message of National Unity, as they started their practice for the event in every nook and corner of the country over the last two months.

The DGNCC was briefed on various NCC-related activities across the State, especially in the remote parts of the State, Coastal Areas, and Border Towns. He evinced a keen interest in understanding the nuances of the state and discussed how NCC can further its core objectives, duly aligned with that of the region.  He was appreciative of the NCC-organized Blood Donation Camps with the support of State Administration in various rural areas.  He deliberated on the second-order effects of such camps through blood tests and other medical checkups.

He expressed his admiration for the support of all administrative setups of the Gujarat State at every level.  He presented the prizes and medallions to various NCC achievers of the State. He closely interacted with the Cadets, Associate NCC Officers, and Instructional Staff to seek their perspectives and suggestions. He assured the Gujarat NCC of all possible support in realizing the NCC’s motto of “Unity and Discipline”.
