NCC Cadet Ankita Devi

Cadet Ankita Devi is a regular NCC cadet of Kaliabor College/8 Assam NCC Bn under NCC Gp Tezpur(NCC Directorate North Eastern Region Shillong) has been provisionally selected for recruitment training in Indian Navy under Agniveer (SSR). She will be undergoing training at INS Chilka, Orissa from 17 November 2023.

Ankita belongs to a village Rangolu Paharguri in Nagaon district of Assam. Her father is a milk seller and mother a housewife. Hailing from a modest background Ankita studied and passed her 10th class from St Roberts High School, Rangolu and 12th class from KV Missa Cantt. She is presently studying in 1st year at Kaliabor College where she is an NCC cadet. She was always eager to join the Indian Navy. She says, “It was my dream to join the Navy”. She was highly motivated and inspired by her Commanding Officer Col Amar Singh at NCC Bn Nagaon and her ANO Dr Dilip K Sonowal at Kaliabor College.

Ankita likes to play badminton, draw and paint; she also likes to sing and dance. Ankita is a trendsetter and example to emulate for all girls of Assam and northeast India. She shall be reporting for her training at INS Chilka on 17 November. Ankita’s achievement was appreciated by Maj Gen Gagan Deep, ADG NCC Directorate North Region Region, Shillong who presented Medallion to Ankita Devi and wished her the best for her upcoming naval training at INS Chilka.
