Indian Army Deploys Aerial Assests For Damage Assessment And Cultivation Of Crops In Manipur 

As part of Confidence Building Measures and step towards resettlement, the Indian Army Columns of Red Shield Division provided assistance to Imphal East District, Agricultural Cultivation Assessment Team for damage assessment and progress on cultivation in the region. The Agriculture Team was required to physically verify paddy fields which could not be cultivated due to security situation in the State post eruption of Ethnic Clashes in May. An Aerial/ Drone survey was required for damage assessment to be submitted to the Government in order to provide Compensatory Package Scheme for farmers affected by the law and order crisis.

The Army columns provided all necessary assistance including Area Domination and Drone Support for the aerial survey of cultivation of the Villages of Moirangpurel Bowl to include the villages of Itham, Tumokhong, Keithalambi, Monthou, Nungbrang, Bongbal Khullen and Moirangpurel as part of Confidence Building Measure. The district administration appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army and thanked them for the kind support.
