Indian Army Extends Support To Relief Camps In Bishnupur

Indian Army Extends Support To Relief Camps  In Bishnupur

To alleviate the hardships of Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Relief Camps at Phubala & Sunusipahi, Red Shield Division of Indian Army extended support by providing commercial platforms to their handicrafts products in Welfare Shops of Military Stations.

Army units deployed in the Bishnupur district also started sourcing their requirements like candles and other articles, from these relief camps, providing a much needed market for them.

Indian Army also provisioned  candle making machines to the women in these Relief Camps thus, providing them with an opportunity for self-employment and a source of income in the festive season. This initiative by Indian Army will further boost the demand for local handicrafts products.

The selfless service of the Indian Army received high praise from the local populace. Such noble initiatives reinforce the commitment of the Security Forces to stand with the needy and distressed people of Manipur and their continuous efforts to restore peace and bring normalcy to the state.
