Lt Col Robert Ta Memorial Badminton Tournament Concluded At Manipur 

The 2nd edition of the prestigious Lt Col Robert TA, Badminton tournament concluded at the Rikhumai Indoor Badminton Hall, Senapati, Manipur on 16 Nov 2023.

The event was organised in honour of Lt Col Robert TA, 1st Army Officer from Maram region, who laid down his life in the highest traditions of Indian Army while leading a snow clearance expedition team in treacherous terrain of North Sikkim on 14 May 2020.

The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of 112 Men & 20 Women in various categories and age groups.  More than 300 spectators witnessed the final match and closing ceremony. Local students presented a colourful culture program.

Mrs Chingpai Rangnamei, wife of the brave heart was the special guest on the occasion alongwith Maj Gen Vinod Kumar Nambiar, YSM, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles, East, who also attended the closing ceremony and felicitated the price winners of the tournament.

The local population appreciated the tribute to their fallen hero and were sanguine that the conduct of the tournament provided a good platform for the budding shuttlers to showcase their skills.
